5 Reasons to File a Negative Review
A MDReport.net article |
|
Far too often when seeing a new doctor, patients don't know what they're getting into. However, with the advent of internet review sites, it's easier than ever to share your opinion about the care that you've received. This article discusses five reasons to consider filing a negative doctor review.
1 - Your Doctor Has a Poor Bedside Manner
One reason to file a negative doctor review is poor bedside manner. As a patient, you should feel comfortable and secure with your doctor. You should be able to trust him with all treatment decisions, knowing that he has the situation well in hand. If your doctor is unpleasant, short, or rude, it can lead you to distrust his medical opinions, even if he has your best interests at heart. If your doctor is simply unpleasant to be around, consider filing a negative doctor review to warn other potential patients.
2 -
Your Doctor is Inattentive &
If you regularly see the same doctor, your care should be continuous from one visit to the
next. If you find yourself constantly repeating the same symptoms, catching your
doctor up, or reminding him of your allergies over and over, it may be time to
find a new doctor. If you decide to switch providers, consider filing a negative
doctor review so that others will know about your unpleasant experience.
3 - Your Doctor Treats You Poorly for Asking Questions
A good doctor will take the time to answer your questions. After all, it's your
body and your health at stake. If your doctor mocks you, makes you feel silly
for asking questions, or regularly uses language that you don't understand, it
may be time to find a new health care provider. It's important that you be well
informed about your medical care so that you can make the best possible
decisions, and your doctor should support you in this endeavor.
4 -
Your Doctor is Always Rushed
If your doctor is constantly looking at his watch while talking to you, leaving you feeling as if your concerns are unimportant when compared to his schedule, it may be time to file a negative review. Your doctor should take the time to examine you thoroughly, ask you questions, and listen to your concerns. A full evaluation takes time, and shouldn't be rushed. By rushing you, your doctor is setting himself up for mistakes, medication errors, and wrong diagnoses. If you regularly feel rushed by your doctor, write a review so that other patients in your area can learn from your experience.
5 -
Your Doctor is Cold and Uncaring
Some doctors are very personable and enjoy taking care of people - others practice medicine solely for the money and aren't really that interested in people's problems. As a patient, you'll feel more comfortable with a doctor who's generally concerned about your health issues and how they affect your life. If your doctor seems like he really doesn't care about your health, your illness, or how it impacts you day to day, it may be time to look for a new doctor. Be sure to file a negative review, as well, so that potential patients can see how you were treated.
